"...All this suggests that Balloonancy, the brainchild of playwright Barry Kornhauser, is poised to float for a long time on peals of laughter. It recalls much of the appeal of Charlie Chaplin's Little Tramp character, and has already received the American Association of Theatre in Education Distinguished Play Award. While it's in Minneapolis, though, it offers a sterling and humorous experience for preschoolers and parents alike - and the ages in-between, should they not be turned off by the "children's" label. Some things are too good to pass up."

"...It's also one of the best things that the company has created for the under-six crowd in quite some time. Written by Barry Kornhauser -- the playwright responsible for CTC's much-lauded 2006 Buster Keaton homage "Reeling" -- it's a delightful little romp that has plenty of playful shtick but also offers some touching reminders of the ups and downs of developing a strong friendship."

"...While this play was not groundbreaking, and it is not going to change any kind of political thinking or actions, it provided me an opportunity to see theatre through the eyes of a child seeing a show for the first time—my son. Watching him watch the stage with wonder, concern, and laughter reminded me of the magic of simple theatre. As we applauded he asked to see more. I couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm. That’s what this simple show can inspire: a lifelong love of theatre."
