Black Light
Penumbra Theatre
270 N. Kent St St. Paul
The "fully inhabited fictional creation of the performance artist Daniel Alexander Jones" (The New York Times), Jomama Jones is a sparkly soul singer and diva extraordinaire who makes her triumphant return to the Twin Cities in her latest "alternative drag-spectrum" show, Black Light: A Soulful Embrace of Love and Life. The always entertaining Ms. Jones is set to reflect on those topics and others with her signature mix of song and story, featuring cuts from her upcoming album Flowering. Jones, a longtime member of St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre company, is back after acclaimed cabaret appearances in New York and elsewhere, and is accompanied by pianist Samora Pinderhughes for this show, which appears as part of the Claude Edison Purdy Festival.
