Bright Half Life at Pillsbury House Theatre

Bright Half Life

Pillsbury House Theatre
3501 Chicago Ave S Minneapolis

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in a baby carriage. Tanya Barfield's poignant and funny new play tells the story of Erica and Vicky, love and a relationship that spans decades. Moments of the past collide with fragments of the present in this kaleidoscopic telling of the loves and loses of coupledom. Bright Half Life is contemporary play with a theme as timeless as the ages. Directed by Ellen Fenster. Starring Sarah Agnew and Jasmine Hughes.

Twin Cities Pioneer Press - Somewhat Recommended

"...The zeitgeist of the play is already creaky: If you happen to believe that people and relationships are pretty much the same regardless of things like race and affectional preference, “Bright Half Life” is 65 minutes of numbing, narcissistic ho-hum-ery. If you don’t, chances are pretty slim that you’d be willing to traipse down to a 96-seat theater in Minneapolis’ Powderhorn neighborhood to have your mind changed."
