"...I'm all in favor of good scripts that provide quality performance opportunities to the Twin Cities' ample supply of chronologically seasoned actresses. "Calendar Girls" is, alas, not that kind of script. Sappy, simplistic and slow-witted, it is a thorough squandering of the talent that's been assembled on the stage."

Good news: Calendar Girls is that play, and it is now having its Minnesota premiere in a wonderful production mounted by Park Square Theatre on their Proscenium Stage. It's a little bit racy, but always in good taste; a little bit sentimental, but always sincere; and a little bit sharp tongued, but always good at heart."
