  Grounded at The Playwrights' Center

Grounded

The Playwrights' Center
2301 Franklin Avenue East Minneapolis

George Brant's toothsome and timely one-woman play presents us with a passionate fighter who sees her career in the sky interrupted by an unplanned pregnancy. Reassigned to a job operating military drones, she first chafes, then numbs, then finally has difficulty separating the Middle Eastern desert she patrols and the American desert in which she lives. Sha Cage stars in Frank Theatre's production.

  Grounded Reviews

Star Tribune - Recommended

Twin Cities Pioneer Press - Recommended

"...Neither the performer nor the production fully transcend the earthbound limitations of the script, and given its thematic and technical specificity, "Grounded" probably will not enjoy a long shelf life. In this moment, however, it's a worthwhile flight."

How Was The Show - Recommended

"...Director (and Frank founder/artistic director) Wendy Knox pulls an excellent performance out of Cage. As always with Knox, Grounded exhibits intelligence and play-driving focus. Her designers – Joseph Stanley (sets), Michael Kittel (lights), Kathy Kohl (costumes) and Michael Croswell (sound), do terrific work with a minimal budget. Their production is clean and focused."
