Acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Jeffrey Hatcher -- writer of Casanova with Heath Ledger and The Duchess with Keira Knightley -- presents Hamlet with... Jeffrey Hatcher. That's right, Hatcher himself takes the stage in the solo show Jeffrey Hatcher's Hamlet to tell the tale of the famous prince at Lowry Lab Theater. The catch is, this particular production of Shakespeare's famous tragedy actually has very little Shakespearean text... because it is brought to you by 10-year-old Hatcher, who once adapted, directed and performed Hamlet with his fifth-grade classmates while growing up in humble Steubenville, Ohio. Decades later, the successful writer ruminates on his early start on the stage, in a deeply-felt show celebrating theater as home, refuge and platform.
