Show Information

Jungle Theatre

Star Tribune- Highly Recommended

"...Directed with fluid lyricism by Jeremy Cohen, “Le Switch” has a firecracker cast with expert timing and a lot of heart. The set (by Kate Sutton-Johnson), costumes (Moria Sine Clinton) and lights (Barry Browning) all give the smooth production an alluring elegance."

How Was The Show- Highly Recommended

"...What is so rare as a full moon in June on a perfect Minnesota evening? It may be a perfect little romantic comedy. The rom-com genre, so over worked by Hollywood that even they have mostly abandoned it, is now being resuscitated and given new life by Chicago playwright Philip Dawkins in a remarkably loveable production at the Jungle Theatre."

Aisle Say Twin Cities- Highly Recommended

"...I'm just going to come right out and say it: I loved Le Switch. I feel a little guilty about this, mainly because it's a pretty standard form rom-com complete with quirky characters and convenient coincidences and the overarching message that the best, most important thing you can do in life is fall in love and get married. In theory, I don't like this sort of thing, but the reality is that Le Switch is so well executed, from script to staging, that I thoroughly enjoyed myself and have already texted a certain number of friends to suggest they get tickets."

Talkin Broadway- Recommended

"...The Jungle and Dawkins make a (second) perfect match. All the actors have terrific moments, but director Jeremy Cohen deserves the credit for creating the best ensemble work I've seen in any show this year. Making sad sack, emotionally stunted characters endearing is no easy feat but Kasey Mahaffy does it with aplomb. His David, who is somehow simultaneously neurotic and down to earth, is likeable throughout. That is probably mostly due to Mahaffy's expert comic timing, but his ease and honesty contribute as well. Like Emily Gunyou Halaas, he builds emotional pressure by consistently pushing against sentimentality and so those moments when the actors do let their defenses down are some of the most powerful ones in the play."
