The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee presented by Bloomington Civic Theatre

Bloomington Theatre and Art Center (BTAC) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Bloomington Civic Theatre (BCT) production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Performances will be taking place in the Schneider Theater January 17 - February 16.

With a new twist on a traditional musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee incorporates volunteers from the audience into the spelling bee and the show itself! A hilarious tale of overachievers' angst, this show chronicles the experience of six adolescents vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. Pre-selected volunteers are requested to come on stage and sit with the cast. During the first act the volunteers get to show their spelling skills by participating in the bee as well as some dancing skills as they are gently encouraged by the cast to participate in a musical number. It will definitely be an experience that the volunteers and the audience will never forget!

BCT is a program of the Bloomington Theatre and Art Center (BTAC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2009 from the merger of Bloomington Civic Theatre and Bloomington Art Center. BTAC offers high quality theater productions, art education for children and adults, and visual arts exhibitions featuring the work of emerging and established artists from Minnesota and surrounding states. BCT is proud to be a participating theater in and a recipient of the Twin Cities Ivey Awards.
