Park Square presents The Red Box
May 25, 2014

The Red BoxThe tradition of summer mysteries continues at Park Square Theatre with the Theatre's the world premiere commission of THE RED BOX based on the book by Rex Stout, adapted for the stage by Joseph Goodrich, directed by Peter Moore. E. J Subkoviak takes on the role of Nero Wolfe and Sam Pearson as Wolfe's right-hand man Archie Goodwin.

A lovely young woman is dead and the fortunes of a theatrical producer depend on solving the mystery. The police are not getting anywhere, so it's time to call Nero Wolfe -and eccentric detective genius who rarely leaves his comfortable brownstone in Manhattan. While tending his 10,000 orchids and enjoying fine cuisine, Wolfe and his wisecracking sidekick Archie solve a crime that seems unsolvable.

THE RED BOX offers a new take on a classic Nero Wolfe mystery - a perfect summertime diversion. And while there have been adaptations for television, this is the first stage play based on a Nero Wolfe tale. Written by Minnesota native Joseph Goodrich, whose Panic won the Edgar Award for best mystery play, this new work will bring the famously eccentric detective genius to life on Park Square's proscenium stage.
