Oh Freedom! The Story of the Underground Railroad
The Conn Theater
1900 Nicollet Avenue Minneapolis
It's one of the greatest collaborations against racism in American history: the Underground Railroad. Learn about the lives of the major players, including Harriet Tubman and Harriet Beecher Stowe, through stories and songs of the period. You'll also hear about the lesser-known heroes, like mysterious "Peg Leg" Joe, who taught slaves to escape, and Henry "Box" Brown, who had himself put in a box and mailed to freedom. Relive the journey at Youth Performance Company's Black History Month production at Minneapolis' Howard Conn Fine Arts Center.
Thru - Feb 19, 2017
