Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
History Theatre
30 East Tenth Street St. Paul
Rock out to the golden oldies when History Theatre brings back its popular, award-winning production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. This hit show follows Holly's childhood in Texas, his musical beginnings with the group of high school friends who later gained fame as the Crickets, his meteoric rise to fame and his tragic early death -- all set to a soundtrack of some of rock 'n' roll's biggest hits, including Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue," Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba," the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace" and many more. Part biography, part rock 'n' roll concert, this musical is a joyous celebration of the life and music of one of America's most beloved musicians (played by Nicholas Freeman).
