Trainspotting
Phoenix Theatre
Twin Cities Pioneer Press- Somewhat Recommended
"...Under the direction of Peter Beard, the show is not always on firm ground, though. An extended bit — a precision-timed one that involves a character whose accent is so unintelligible that he requires subtitles — doesn’t work if the actor performing it mistimes it or fumbles for lines, both of which happened Saturday night. And the set — or, rather, lack of a set — doesn’t help the audience enter into the world the mostly deft actors are working to create. It’s supposed to be minimal, for sure, but the raggedy black curtain that surrounds the actors in “Trainspotting” feels less like a choice than a sloppy accident."
