Originally written and performed by brothers Frank McCourt (Angela's Ashes and Malachy McCourt (A Monk Swimming), A Couple of Blaguards is a humorous look into their early lives. Written before either of their first novels were published, the classic storytelling in this two-man play is filled with poignant vignettes and Irish culture. The play follows the young McCourts from their childhood in poverty-stricken Limerick through their journey to Brooklyn, where the young men learned to apply the day-to-day lessons from their hardscrabble past to their new lives. Blaguards is a story of immigration, triumph and brotherly love. Under the direction of Peter Moore, Ross Young and Chris Whiting star in this fast-paced, vaudevillian comedy.
