"...There are other such swings and inconsistencies in the 13-member cast that make "Black Coffee" feel like it's not quite constructed of whole cloth. The telling, like the tale itself, doesn't quite hit the mark. But enough goes right to make the diversion of an old-style whodunit a satisfying experience."
