"...In years of watching Penumbra Theatre's "Black Nativity," I've seen smallish productions and gigantic ones. I've watched star vehicles and ensemble efforts. I've encountered exuberant performances and ones that are more reserved. But I don't think I've seen a "Black Nativity" that's more moving, more exhilarating or more heartfelt than the version now on stage at the theater's home in St. Paul's Selby-Dale neighborhood."
