"...Developed at an Orlando, Fla., (ahem) fringe festival, "Disenchanted" uses that snappy little premise to introduce songs that decry racism ("Finally"), ignorance of history ("Honestly"), literary license ("Not One Red Cent"), objectification ("All I Want To Do Is Eat") and, of course, sexism (can't print that song title in this newspaper but it has to do with ample bosoms). "Disenchanted" dips into all of those subjects with a light touch and a bit of mild raunch -- since, as we're warned at the top of the musical, "This show ain't for kiddies, folks.""

Bright, clever and all in good fun, this modern take on the heroines of classic children’s Disney movies also has a solid—and serious—premise holding the whole thing up. Is it a little frothy?
