Sex and murder, cannibalism and the American Dream -- it's all fair game in the hilarious cult classic musical Eating Raoul. The show centers around the appropriately named Paul and Mary Bland, a prudish couple that dreams of opening a restaurant far away from the sexual deviants who surround them in lusty Los Angeles during the swinging '60s. Their crazy scheme to fund their new endeavor? Mary and Paul will lure perverts into their apartment with a promise that Mary will fulfill their wildest fantasies -- and Paul will administer a lethal blow to the head with a frying pan. But when hot-blooded Chicano Raoul discovers the Blands' plan and wants in on the deal, Mary must choose between her new Latin lover and her faithful foodie hubby.

"...Darren Hensel's many-hued set and Clara Cavins Wolford's costumes capture the vibe well.
The plot is utterly ludicrous, but it does satirize the idea of the "American Dream," modern marriage and lots of other things along the way. The music is goofy, the acting broad, the whole thing fun in a naughty, winking way."
