Writers Jeremiah and Vanessa Gamble (founders of Theater for the Thirsty) hoped the piece would challenge both church goers and non-church goers to rethink assumptions and provoke discussion. "We were thrilled with the response," says Jeremiah. "We heard a lot of stories from the audience and cast about conversations they had about the show." Kingdom Undone even got the critics talking. "It's a rare show that a friend and I will be discussing for hours after we've seen it," wrote Matthew Everett of the T C Daily Planet, and Sophie Kerman of Aisle Say stated "Kingdom Undone provides an interesting venue for thinking in new ways about a very old story."
