Wicked Set To Return to Minneapolis

Wicked MinneapolisHennepin Theatre Trust announced that tickets for Wicked running September 18-October 27, 2013 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre, will go on public sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 20. Wicked makes its much-anticipated return to the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Minneapolis after selling out three Minneapolis engagements in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is the winner of 35 major awards, including a Grammy Award and three Tony Awards. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One-born with emerald green skin-is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Wicked has been declared "a cultural phenomenon" by Variety and remains one of the most in-demand shows on tour. It features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin and Academy Award-winner for "Pocahontas" and "The Prince of Egypt"), a book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once and Again" and "thirtysomething") and direction by two-time Tony-winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Love! Valour! Compassion! and The Vagina Monologues). For more information, visit www.wickedthemusical.com.
