Tickets for Shear Madness On Sale

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Shear Madness will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012. This hilarious whodunit which lets the audience solve the crime is running at the Trust's Pantages Theatre February 27-March 17, 2013. Beginning at 10 a.m., tickets will be sold online through HennepinTheatreTrust.org, in person at the State Theatre Box Office or by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center.

Set in a unisex hairstyling salon that is the scene of a wacky murder, Shear Madness is the longest running play in American theatre history. It was voted "Best Comedy of the Year" seven times by the Boston Globe. This first ever national tour is a special addition to Hennepin Theatre Trust's 2012/13 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season.

Filled with up-to-the-minute spontaneous humor referencing current events, popular culture and local news, it has played tens of thousands of performances and drawn over 9.6 million audience members worldwide into its uproarious mystery. During the course of the action, the audience gets to spot the clues, question the suspects and solve the funniest mystery in the annals of crime. The interactive comedy produces "shrieks of laughter night after night" says the Washington Post and is a "legitimate phenomenon" raves Variety. Shear Madness has received the Raven Award from the Mystery Writers of America and has been inducted into the Comedy Hall of Fame, the first play ever to receive that accolade.
