Actors Theater of Minnesota presents a Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge
Nov 21, 2012

Comedy Roast of Mr. ScroogeThis holiday season, it will be Scrooge's chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Actors Theater of Minnesota announced this week that it will once again host a Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge with six performances December 14 - 22, at the Cabaret at Camp Bar. The roasters includes some of the Twin Cities' funniest comedians-Chris Knutson, Zach Coulter, and Adam Fielitz, to name a few.

The Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge combines the oldest traditions from comedy-savagely mocking someone-and the holidays-imbibing in one too many ‘nogs and telling everyone what you really think. From Tiny Tim to the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future, all of the beloved characters from A Christmas Carol finally get their chance to tell Scrooge what's coming to him in words that Charles Dickens never even knew.  Straying far from certain local productions of Dicken's holiday classic, this irreverent and raucous show is the perfect anecdote for those who prefer a little more spice and a little less nice to their x-mases.

In addition to Knutson (Ghost of Christmas Past), Coulter (Tiny Tim), and Fielitz (Marley), the roasters include Justine Carroll (Ghost of Christmas Present), Tim Dybevik (Bob Cratchett), John Haynes (Marley), JoNae Villeneuve (Emily Cratchett) and Bill Young (Ghost of Christmas Future). Rick Logan takes on the daunting role of the roasted Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge.

The Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge was first held in 2008. It received such a great response that Actors Theater of Minnesota has made it a non-traditional tradition, remounting the show every December for the past four years.

The Comedy Roast of Mr. Scrooge plays December 14 - December 22, at the Cabaret at Camp Bar, 490 North Robert Street, Saint Paul, MN, 55101. Performances are at 9:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, and Wednesday, December 19. General admission tickets are $19.50. VIP tickets with reserved seating in the front are also available for $24.50. Tickets are available at BrownPaperTickets.com or by calling 800-838-3006.
