"...But the play -- both as written and staged -- mostly belongs to the character playing Black Stache, the larger-than-life pirate who gets the lion's share of the physical comedy that will appeal to younger audiences as well most of the periodic one-liners meant for more sophisticated theater-goers (at one point, Stache refers to the trunk full of starstuff as being "elusive as the melody in a Philip Glass opera"). John Sanders does not waste the opportunity, dropping spoonerisms and malapropos like a bad juggler and -- in the second act -- making a virtuoso aria out of the three words, "Oh my God.""
