"...Diamond's script may not have much new to say about the barriers of race and class, but she does find amusing and thoughtful ways to frame them, as when white Kimber accuses black Taylor of treating black Cheryl "like a slave" or when Joseph talks about the price he has paid for having darker skin than his wife -- whom, we suspect, he chose specifically because she could "pass" for white."
