The town jeweler is the centerpiece of this timeless poetic drama penned in 1960 following three couples, one newlywed, one whose marriage is on the rocks -- and the engagement of the son of the first couple and the daughter of the second. The joys, mysteries and pitfalls of love sparkle in The Jeweler's Shop, actor, poet and playwright Karol Wojtyla's (Pope St. John Paul II) best-known play, which was made into a 1989 film starring Burt Lancaster, Ben Cross and Olivia Hussey, and made its off-Broadway debut in New York in 1994.
