Twin Cities Pioneer Press- Highly Recommended

"...For something to work on this kind of massive scale (the finale finds roughly 60 people on stage), everyone must be on the same page, and I'm inclined to credit Miller-Stephany for the fact that beautiful details keep popping up all over the place: the blissful look on Marian's face as she sings the words "love him 'til I die" in "My White Knight"; the character bits in the chorus as its members dance to the slinky "Marian the Librarian"; the effortless shifts from dialogue to song and back in "Pick-a-Little, Talk-a-Little"; the droll way a barbershop quartet keeps popping up to tie everything together; even the weirdly effective placement of conductor Andrew Cooke right in the middle of the stage, as if to emphasize that, like each person in River City, we shouldn't jump to conclusions about him because there's more to him than meets the eye."

How Was The Show- Highly Recommended

"...The Guthrie Theater has picked what may be the world’s most perfectly constructed musical for its summer audiences. Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” is just brilliant writing, and that’s all there is to it—a musical comedy lovers’ musical, and a classic for all time."
