This Side of Paradise
History Theatre
30 East Tenth Street St. Paul
Fresh from its acclaimed off-Broadway run, This Side of Paradise, a jazz musical about F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, comes to Fitzgerald's home city of St. Paul with History Theatre's stunning new production. Has there ever been a couple as beautiful -- or as doomed -- as Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald? "Scott" was the literary genius behind The Great Gatsby and Zelda was the effervescent life of the party, the ultimate flapper. Together these two sophisticates would come to define the decadence and glamor of the Roaring Twenties. But later, as the market crashed, so did their world collapse, leaving their love the only thing standing amongst the ruins. Ron Peluso, artistic director of the History Theatre, directs this powerful tale of agony and ecstasy.

This Side of Paradise Reviews
| Twin Cities Pioneer Press - Somewhat Recommended
"..."This Side of Paradise" could use much more of that disconcerting blend of beauty and tribulation, but that intriguing chemistry -- like so much else about the show -- never comes together."
