Beauty and the Beast set for Orpheum Theatre

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced that individual tickets for Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the classic musical love story running at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre October 16-21, 2012, will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012. From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., tickets will only be available in person at the State Theatre Box Office. Beginning at 10 a.m., tickets will also be sold online through HennepinTheatreTrust.org, by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast originated its national tour at the historic Orpheum Theatre in 1995. This all-new production is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes and dazzling production numbers including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song. Beauty and the Beast is part of the 2012/13 Broadway Across America-Minneapolis Season.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is the story of Belle, a young woman from a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell by an enchantress. It features the animated film's Academy Award-winning score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, with additional songs with music by Menken and lyrics by Tim Rice. The international sensation has played to more than 35 million people worldwide in 21 countries.

Single tickets for Disney's Beauty and the Beast go on sale at 9 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 at the State Theatre Box Office only (805 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls., 55402). Beginning at 10 a.m., tickets will be available online at HennepinTheatreTrust.org or through Ticketmaster by calling 1.800.982.2787 or visiting a Ticketmaster Ticket Center. Tickets start at $35 (subject to change) depending on performance time and seating preference. All prices include applicable facility fees. Additional charges may apply. Performance dates for Disney's Beauty and the Beast are Tuesday-Sunday, Oct. 16-21, 2012 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Avenue, Mpls., 55403). Performance times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
