Leslie Jordan in Stories I Can't Tell Mama
Feb 3, 2012

Stories I Can't Tell MamaFresh off his supporting role in the current Best Picture Oscar-nominated film, The Help (winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Motion Picture Ensemble, 2011), as well as a sold-out Summer 2011 tour, Leslie Jordan brings one of his latest autobiographical one-man shows, Stories I Can't Tell Mama, to the Cabaret at Camp Bar in St. Paul for a limited engagement February 23 - 25. The Emmy Award-winning star of Will and Grace presents an evening filled with hilarious stories, Hollywood dish, and natural talent. Stories I Can't Tell Mama is the fourth show in Actors Theater of Minnesota's "Cabaret from the USA" series.

Featuring behind-the-scene stories from the critically acclaimed box office smash, The Help, as well as wildly entertaining anecdotes about the highs and lows of life on the road, Jordan's natural born storytelling and innate gift for gab keeps every audience in stitches. Stories I Can't Tell Mama promises to be fresh, riveting, and hilarious. Jordan is the consummate raconteur in every sense; this is a show you must see!

With hundreds of television shows, films, and commercials to his credit, Leslie Jordan is a familiar face on the entertainment scene. In 2006, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of "Beverley Leslie" on Will and Grace. He has also appeared on Privileged, Ugly Betty, Boston Legal, and Reba. In addition to his supporting role The Help, audiences may recognize Jordan from his creation of "Brother Boy" in the cinematic cult classic Sordid Lives.

Jordan has also enjoyed great success on the stage with the Ovation Award, the Garland Award, and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award to his name. He has written and starred in several autobiographical, one-man shows including Like a Dog on Linoleum, which performed to sold-out audiences from coast to coast. His play Hysterical Blindness and Other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far packed houses in Los Angeles and had a successful seven month run Off-Broadway. And, most recently, he has toured a one-man show based on his autobiographical book My Trip Down the Pink Carpet published by Simon and Schuster.
