From the playwright of Buzzer comes Prep, a powerful story that exposes the trauma faced by African-American high school students navigating today's educational system. Chris is a spiritually focused go-getter who is respected around school. His friend Oliver is good hearted but on the edge of going down the wrong path. Ms. Michelle, their principal, struggles to keep focused as she supports her 'scholars' and diffuses mounting tensions. As the story unfolds, the students wrestle with dynamics of loyalty, friendship and injustice while trying to protect a secret that could change the course of their lives.
At once an urgent appeal to end the violence erupting on the streets and realize the potential of our youth, Prep examines the effects of racism and class in our cities' schools.

Prep Reviews
Twin Cities Pioneer Press - Somewhat Recommended
"..."Prep" is a complex play that makes a sincere, considered and multifaceted effort to address many questions about race and class, privilege and education. It's way, way too much material to cover in a short 65 minutes, but it gets your brain working."
