A desperate dentist comes face to face with a fleeting shot at real happiness and a more meaningful life in Rocket to the Moon. Written by great American playwright Clifford Odets (Waiting for Lefty, Awake and Sing!), this powerhouse play centers on Stark, a dentist with a failing business and an equally troubled marriage, during a long, hot summer in 1938 New York City. His life heats up as a love affair with a young dental assistant threatens to develop -- and just maybe give him a shot at true happiness. It makes for an unusual story about lives at their crossroads and the desire to get more out of the human experience.

Rocket to the Moon Reviews
| Star Tribune - Highly Recommended
"...All this unhappiness, these unsavory creatures and their little forays into life make for a deliciously funny, poignant, memorable play. Thanks to Gremlin for bringing such vitality to Odets. It is indeed a singular opportunity."

How Was The Show - Recommended
"...Still, Odets's plays produce real pleasure. Characters are rich, dialogue is deft and witty, the plays are chockful of laugh-out-loud comedy. Genuine passion makes itself felt throughout. Awake and Sing! (don't forget the exclamation point), about an impoverished Jewish family in the Bronx, is Odets's acknowledged masterwork; productions of Awake And Sing! emerge with increasing frequency. His Waiting For Lefty is oft-anthologized but seldom produced. Other plays, well, they go largely begging. Certainly in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul."
