Star Tribune- Somewhat Recommended

"...At least those three are plunging forward — blindly on occasion — into the unkown. Wetherhead’s Heidi keeps uncertainty at arm’s length. Is this wisdom or the fear of making a mistake? Perhaps those are two sides of the same coin and we admire the sensibility of caution. That doesn’t make for riveting drama. Heidi has chums, career, opportunities, disappointments. She’s not feeling totally complete but hey, welcome to the world, my friend."

"...I'm not the first critic to point this out, and the choice may well have been an intentional one for the playwright. But a quarter-century removed from the play's 1988 premiere, the combination of passing time, the advances of feminism and the lack of a strong central character makes the play seem a bit dusty. Perhaps seeking to mitigate this, Leigh Silverman, who directs the current Guthrie Theater production, makes Heidi a supporting character rather than the center of the proceedings."
