Under the Gaslight
Minnesota Centennial Showboat
Talkin Broadway- Highly Recommended
"...In what appears to be its final production at the Minnesota Centennial Showboat, the University of Minnesota's Department of Theater Arts & Dance offers Augustin Daly's 1867 melodrama Under the Gaslight. Sometimes said to epitomize a genre that dominated North American stages from 1850 through 1920, the play was also the inaugural production of the Showboat's first season in 1958. Its present incarnation, adopted and lovingly directed by John Miller-Stephany, runs though August 27 and it is terrific."
